Request for community assistance from a BATRC member:

My name is Mike Fessenden, and I’m a member of the BATV Riders.

We’re looking for some volunteers to help at the Boise Wing Off at Julius Kleiner Memorial Park in Meridian on Saturday, June 21.  We need 6 people that can supply ATVs with trailers to help move equipment from the parking lot into the park for the Wing Off.  2 way radios would be helpful, but if you are interested and don’t have a radio, we might be able to find you one. It’s not a lot of work.  The participants do the loading and unloading (ATV drivers are certainly invited to help if they’re inclined, but it’s not necessary) and the ATV drivers just get the grills, canopies and equipment to the set up area in the trailers.

If you’ve never been to the Wing Off, it’s a lot of fun.  It’s a free event (donations area accepted and go to the Kiwanis) and you have an opportunity to sample a lot of wings.  My family and I have been involved for 4 years and have won the People’s Choice award for the last 3 years.

If I could get some volunteers, I’ll bet I could scare up a couple of cold beers to go along with some great wings for them in exchange for helping out.  if you’re interested, give me a call at 208-258-4089, and we appreciate any help you can give us.  The Kiwanis Club is fixing breakfast for all of the volunteers and cooks in the park, so you get breakfast, a chance to sample lots of different wings (sometimes there’s some ribs and other offerings too) and spend the day in the park having fun.  We’d sure appreciate any help we can get.

Mike
