Officers and Committee Members Over the Years

History:

This post was created to list all the officers, directors and committee members of the Boise ATV Trail Riders Club (BATRC  (also known as the original Idaho ATV Association “Association”).  The information from 2003 to current date came from the BATRC newsletters and the website.  It is believed that the majority of the meeting minutes and treasury reports were destroyed by Janice Dike when she left office.  She didn’t realize the information needed to be kept.  Therefore, much of the information prior to year 2000 is from Bill Jones’ memory; however, he definitely was president each year from 1992 (inception) to 2004.)  This post also includes the history of the Boise ATV Trail Riders logo, which changed quite a few times over the years!

The membership grew significantly between 1998-2008.  Bill Jones, Association President at the time, encouraged active members who lived outside the Boise area to start their own club and be a part of the Idaho ATV Association as a chapter.  Ray Ingram started Emmett (Emmett Rough Riders), Rusty Faircloth (Mountain Home ATV Club), Carl Bloomquist (Canyon County ATV Club), and Elizabeth Gilman (Kuna Trail Riders) . Around 2013, Haden Claiborne  started the Idaho UTV Club.  The 2009 photo on the right has all the original five presidents of the area ATV clubs:  Bill, Rusty, Elizabeth (Beth), Carl and Ray all of which were members the Association prior to starting their own.

Approximately in 2009, the Gem State ATV Association approached Bill about the possibility of merging the Idaho ATV Association and Gem State into the Idaho State ATV Association because of the success he was having in adding chapters and how well know the Association had become.  It was agreed upon with the understanding that if the State Association was not successful, Boise would get the rights to the logo back.

• Logo:  The following year, members complained that the logo didn’t demonstrate appropriate attire for riding and didn’t have a helmet.  Pauline removed the rider’s hat, hair, mustache, placed arm on handlebars, placed feet on running boards and added “ATV”.

• Merger into a State Organization:  The failing Gem State ATV Association approached Bill Jones, President, to see if the Idaho ATV Association and Gem could merge into one State ATV Association.  Bill agreed with the understanding if the statewide association didn’t work, Boise could get back the Idaho State ATV Association logo.
