An outdoor advocacy group says outdoor recreation in Idaho creates more than 77,000 jobs and $6.3 billion in consumer spending.
The Outdoor Industry Association also says in the report released Thursday that outdoor recreation in the state produces $1.8 billion in wages and $461 million in state and local tax revenue.
The Post Register reports the group cites the state’s public lands and waters as key in maintaining growth in outdoor recreation.
The group found that the 77,000 outdoor recreation jobs in the state account for 13 percent of Idaho’s total jobs.
